About Kansas City Orange Lacrosse

BE NOTICED, BE ORANGE

KC Orange lacrosse was started in the Fall of 2010 by Chris Kliewer and Kevin Kelley, two local coaches who are passionate about growing the sport of lacrosse and working with kids.

Chris Kliewer brings both passion and 10 years of coaching experience to KC Orange after having coached in state championship games in both basketball and lacrosse at the high school level. He was instrumental in building the lacrosse program at The Pembroke Hill School as head coach and gained valuable experience as an assistant coach at Rockhurst High School, one of the Midwest's premier programs. Chris is a high school art teacher who loves teaching and coaching kids of all ages. He took over the Shawnee Mission East program in 2011 and led the Lancers to two state championships the last two seasons.  Chris and his wife reside in Liberty with their twin sons.

Kevin Kelley brings an impressive pedigree of lacrosse that is hard to rival in Kansas City. A native of Buffalo, NY, Kevin played collegiately for Syracuse University where he was a member of the 2000 National Championship team as a midfielder. That team was recently voted as the Team of the Decade by Inside Lacrosse. Kevin was drafted to play professional lacrosse where he was a member of both the Chicago Machine and the Boston Cannons. Kevin has had coaching stints at New Trier High School in Chicago, Team Illinois, and as a volunteer assistant at Rockhurst High School. Kevin is the top varsity assistant coach at Shawnee Mission East.  Kevin and his wife reside in Waldo with their two daughters.

Chris and Kevin bring a unique style of coaching that allows players to develop regardless of skill level or ability. It is their goal to grow the sport of lacrosse in Kansas City, provide opportunities for boys and girls of all skill levels, and to make sure that every player in their program has fun.
